A Cogent DataHub Case Study
TESS Engineering, a Japan-based provider of installation and remote monitoring services for energy systems, needed a better way to monitor boiler systems across large, decentralized customer sites. On-site checks were costly, required boiler shutdowns, and often produced outdated data. TESS looked for a remote monitoring solution and found Cogent DataHub, along with WebView, as a flexible way to deliver real-time access without a long development project.
Cogent DataHub helped TESS build a cloud-based monitoring system that aggregates boiler data through gateway devices connected via LAN or 3G and presents it in a simple web HMI using WebView. The solution provides real-time and historical monitoring, alarms, email notifications, logging, historian access, and automated reporting. TESS reported that the system improved operational efficiency and safety, and the customer plans to expand it to more than 100 additional boiler sites.
