Schneider Electric FZE, Dubai, needed a way to integrate building security with building management so it could improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs in a prestigious Dubai project. Using Cogent DataHub, the team connected the Lenel OnGuard security system with Schneider Electric’s TAC Satchwell Sigma building management system.

Cogent DataHub acted as the protocol bridge, relaying data from the Lenel OPC server to the TAC Sigma BMS via DDE, enabling automated responses such as turning on lights and air conditioning when an employee entered the building and shutting systems down when they left. The solution was straightforward to implement, has been running successfully for months, and delivered substantial energy savings, lower costs, and environmental benefits.
