Case Study: KuibyshevAzot Chemical Plant achieves seamless Windows–QNX real-time data integration with Cogent DataHub

A Cogent DataHub Case Study

Preview of the KuibyshevAzot Chemical Plant Case Study

Russian chemicals giant KuibyshevAzot uses the DataHub to link Yokogawa DCS to proprietary system in QNX

KuibyshevAzot Chemical Plant, a major Russian chemicals producer, needed a reliable way to link its Yokogawa CENTUM CS3000 DCS with its proprietary Plant Information System Server running on QNX. The challenge was to move real-time production data into an existing mission-critical system without replacing or rebuilding the plant’s information infrastructure. Cogent DataHub provided the middleware used for the integration.

Cogent DataHub implemented Windows and QNX versions of its DataHub software to connect the Yokogawa ExaOPC Server on the Windows side to the Plant Information System Server on QNX, with the two DataHubs mirroring data over TCP across the network. The result was a seamless real-time Windows-to-QNX data link that saved significant development time and money, preserved existing consoles and report forms, and allowed the plant to extend its reporting and displays without deploying a new information system.
