Case Study: Air Liquide increases plant output with Cogent DataHub

A Cogent DataHub Case Study

Air Liquide - Customer Case Study

Air Liquide, an industrial gas producer, needed a more flexible way to connect its air separation unit (ASU) facility in Ingleside, Texas to multiple distributed control systems (DCS) without reconfiguring each time. Working with vendor Cogent DataHub, the team used the DataHub industrial middleware and its Bridging feature, along with a custom script, to standardize communication between legacy and modern control systems.

Cogent DataHub implemented a reusable conditional bridging solution that automatically managed safe data transfers between a Foxboro DCS and a DeltaV PK Controller. The result was a faster, more automated startup process cut from 2 hours to 45 minutes, with Air Liquide expecting to produce an additional 500 tons of liquid oxygen per year. The solution also created a standard approach that can be reused at other Air Liquide sites.
