Yale University Art Gallery launches a 183,000-object online collection with Cogapp

The Yale University Art Gallery, the oldest university art museum in the United States, faced the challenge of an outdated, non-responsive website that was difficult to navigate and provided a poor user experience, especially on mobile devices. They partnered with digital agency Cogapp to design and build a new, accessible website with a robust online collection at its core to better inspire and engage its diverse audiences.

Cogapp delivered a modern, comprehensive website featuring a user-centered information architecture and a content management system powered by Drupal 9. The solution included a fast, searchable online collection of over 180,000 objects, integrated with the Gallery's existing TMS system and featuring advanced tools like IIIF deep-zoom imagery. The new site provides a beautiful and intuitive experience across all devices, extending the Gallery's reach and making its vast collection more accessible to students, researchers, and the public.
