Hammer Museum launches Hammer Channel with Cogapp, home to 1,000+ videos

The Hammer Museum, a contemporary art museum in Los Angeles, held a vast archive of over 1,000 recordings from its public programs but lacked a centralized, accessible online home for this content. Their challenge was to create a comprehensive public platform that was on-brand, integrated with their digital presence, and worthy of their outstanding events program. Cogapp was engaged to architect and build this solution.

Cogapp implemented an open-source video platform, Hammer Channel, powered by the Asset Bank DAMS. The solution provided a searchable archive with full transcripts, a clipping tool for sharing moments, and a design that highlights the breadth of topics. This gave the videos a permanent, accessible public home for global audiences and provided all museum staff with centralized access. As a result of Cogapp's work, the Hammer Museum secured its video history in a manageable system and delivered on its institutional vision of building a more just world through art and ideas.
