Addressing Gender Diversity In A Scale-up Company

OLX Group, a global network of trading platforms serving 300 million people across 30+ countries, faced high-volume tech hiring (60–80K applications per year) and wanted to increase gender diversity in Product, Data, and Technology roles while standardizing a consistent, unbiased screening process—especially after moving recruitment online. To address this, OLX Group selected Codility and its code‑assessment tools (including Codility assessments, CodeLive and Canvas) to introduce objective, standardized technical evaluations.

Codility worked with OLX to train interviewers, implement online coding assessments and virtual whiteboarding, and add full‑screen video for richer remote interviews. The change led to 386 CodeLive interviews to date, an average candidate Net Promoter Score of 8.5, wider and more diverse talent pools across time zones, and materially higher gender diversity in the Product, Data and Technology teams—helping OLX hire on technical merit rather than CV alone.
