Monstat launches census verification tool in 24 days with Codepixel

Codepixel was engaged by MONSTAT, Montenegro's Statistical Office, to address a challenge legislated by Parliament. Following the 2023 census, a new law required the creation of a system that would allow every citizen to verify the four identity-related answers recorded about them, without compromising anyone's personal data.

Codepixel designed and built a secure, accessible public lookup tool in just 24 days. The solution used two non-identifying codes for access, was available in twelve languages, and was independently audited. During its one-week public window, the service successfully handled over 623,000 verification requests from citizens, fulfilling its legislative mandate with zero critical security findings.
