AIB Corporate Banking needed to replace an outdated, non-Y2K-compliant legacy budgeting system and move away from slow, paper-based planning and reporting processes. The bank wanted a new budgeting and planning solution, along with customer profitability analysis, and partnered with Codec-dss to find the right system and implementation approach.

Codec-dss implemented the Budgeting & Planning System in five months using a multi-dimensional OLAP database with an Excel front end and Essbase for stored planning data. The result was a dramatic reduction in turnaround times, with reporting completed in days instead of weeks or months, no paper reports, faster and more accurate management information, and improved analysis capabilities that helped AIB Corporate Banking spend more time adding value to the business.
