The Wellcome Trust, a leading global scientific research funder, faced the challenge of migrating its aging Drupal 7 intranet, Trustnet, to a modern platform before its end-of-life. Code Enigma implemented a comprehensive solution, rebuilding the intranet in Drupal 10 and replacing key integrations like Apache Solr with OpenSearch and a Kerberos system with modern SAML 2.0 single sign-on. This technical modernization, coupled with a complete UX overhaul, resulted in a smoother launch, an enhanced user experience, and an annual cost saving of at least £4,000 for the Wellcome Trust.
