The customer iRecord, a website for sharing wildlife observations, engaged vendor Code Enigma to perform an accessibility audit on its Drupal 9 website following a recent makeover. The challenge was to ensure the site was equitable and inclusive for all users while also improving its overall performance.

Code Enigma conducted a thorough audit using the aXe testing engine and manual checks against WCAG 2.1 guidelines, evaluating numerous site pages. The solution included providing two detailed reports with roadmap recommendations for both accessibility and performance, which were identified using Google Lighthouse. As a final step, Code Enigma also created a draft accessibility statement for the customer to publish, ensuring the site would be more accessible to its entire target audience.
