Southeastern exposes 1-100 train capacity data with Code Computerlove

The train operator Southeastern faced the challenge of displaying real-time train carriage occupancy data to its customers during the Covid-19 pandemic, as mandated by the government. They briefed Code Computerlove to redesign their app and website to present this information in a user-friendly and accessible way to help passengers travel safely and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Code Computerlove designed accessible icons to represent different levels of seat availability and engineered both the front-end and back-end to expose the data feed across Southeastern's digital platforms. This solution allowed Southeastern to adapt to new guidelines and take a customer-first approach by making travel safer; it was also the first time this data was made available to customers within the parent Go-Ahead Group.

Southeastern
