A Codacy Case Study
Stim, a Swedish music rights collection society, faced the challenge of modernizing its legacy systems originally written in the 1980s-era IBM RPG language. They needed to rewrite and refactor large portions of code into modern languages like Go and TypeScript while ensuring the new applications they built would be high-quality and endure for decades. To help achieve this, Stim turned to the vendor Codacy and its quality platform.
By implementing Codacy Quality, Stim was able to dramatically increase its test coverage. The company saw the number of applications with monitored coverage grow from 25-30 to 80, while the average coverage rate itself increased from 23% to 64%. Codacy also helped Stim identify critical issues in its codebase, leading to the implementation of a new triage process that improved overall code quality. The vendor Codacy provided the tools necessary to prioritize and address technical debt effectively.
