Superhuman, the email software company, wanted to clarify the difference between its flexible PTO and leave programs as employee needs became more complex in the post-pandemic environment. Working with Cocoon, it set out to create clearer, more supportive policies that would better guide employees and managers while reinforcing a more inclusive culture.
With guidance from Cocoon’s compassionate leave policy text, Superhuman revamped its leave framework and launched compassionate leave alongside caregiver leave, healthcare leave, and a more inclusive flexible holiday policy. The new policies went live in December 2022, and Superhuman reported positive employee feedback, stronger confidence in using leave, and better preparedness among People Ops for sensitive situations, though no numeric metrics were shared.
