Case Study: Wienerberger achieves 20% reduction in managed product properties and enterprise-wide data standardisation with Cobuilder

A Cobuilder Case Study

Preview of the Wienerberger Case Study

Wienerberger AG creates an enterprise-level data model

Wienerberger AG, a global building materials and infrastructure supplier with 16,000+ employees and nearly 200 production sites, faced inconsistent and siloed product data across its brands and markets. Seeking a single source of truth that could also “translate” data for different software and local requirements, Wienerberger turned to Cobuilder and its enterprise solutions, notably Cobuilder Define and Cobuilder goBIM, to standardise and govern product information across the organisation.

Cobuilder implemented a standards-based logical data model using Cobuilder Define for governance and Cobuilder goBIM to translate and distribute data to PIMs, BIM tools and external systems (with CADENAS for 3D geometry). The result was a 20% reduction in properties managed through mapping and de-duplication, a single-source dictionary for interoperable data, and automated updates (e.g., changes in PIMs flow via goBIM into Revit and other formats such as IFC, Revit, Nemetschek, E‑TIM–RT, B@uClass and ArchiCAD).
