Case Study: Pipelife Norway achieves standardised, interoperable product data for BIM with Cobuilder goBIM

A Cobuilder Case Study

Preview of the PipeLife Case Study

Pipelife Norway adopts a standardised approach to product data management

PipeLife, Norway’s largest producer and supplier of plastic pipe systems and part of Wienerberger AG, faced fragmented product information in siloed systems and inconsistent web catalogues that prevented delivery of machine-readable, standards-based data to contractors, merchants and BIM workflows. To address this, PipeLife partnered with Cobuilder and adopted Cobuilder goBIM (with Cobuilder Collaborate for contractors/clients) to implement Wienerberger’s enterprise-level data model and align product data with Norwegian and international standards.

Cobuilder implemented goBIM as a Product Information Management system, consolidating and mapping PipeLife’s product data into standardised Data Templates, collapsing disparate formats, and enabling a web-embedded product catalogue and direct BIM integration via Cobuilder Collaborate. As a result, Cobuilder helped PipeLife structure all product information, establish a clear maintenance process, and make accurate, up-to-date, machine-readable data available on PipeLife’s website and Cobuilder’s platform—improving data quality, interoperability and digital readiness across the supply chain.
