Case Study: KSB Group achieves a standards-based, 3D-enabled product configurator with Cobuilder

KSB, a global supplier of pumps and valves, faced growing pressure to deliver better digital services and a more reliable online product configurator while tackling poor data quality and the need for rigorous technical validation. To modernize its configurator and ensure interoperability across systems, KSB partnered with Cobuilder, using Cobuilder’s goBIM solution and standard-based Data Templates to drive the initiative.

Cobuilder implemented a structured data model, embedded industry standards into KSB’s product database, and enabled automated data exchange between KSB’s EasySelect configurator, Cobuilder goBIM and 3D CAD provider CADENAS. As a result, Cobuilder enabled seamless flow of structured, machine-readable product data and 3D visualizations to end users via KSB’s interface, allowing customers to view and download complete, validated product information and transforming KSB’s configurator into a leading-edge, interoperable tool.
