Berkeley Modular launched an innovative offsite manufacturing process based on the latest digital technologies

Berkeley Modular, a volumetric modular housing manufacturer for the Berkeley Group, needed to modernise its Gravesend factory and unify product information across multiple internal systems and external suppliers. To achieve rigorous data governance and machine-readable product data for digitally enabled production, Berkeley Modular partnered with Cobuilder and deployed Cobuilder’s digital platform components (Data Templates, goBIM, Collaborate and API integration).

Cobuilder implemented standardized Data Templates, a master project and supplier onboarding via goBIM, built a central Collaborate repository, and connected the data into Berkeley Modular’s ERP (Oracle) and Autodesk tools through APIs. The outcome is digitised, structured product data that enables automation of manual tasks, reduces time and labour costs, improves production efficiency and supply‑chain collaboration, and supports Berkeley Modular’s sustainability and build‑quality goals — with Cobuilder continuing to enhance filtering, validation and change‑control features to protect data accuracy.
