Weebly, a global website-building platform used by over 20 million people and receiving 200 million monthly unique visitors, needed a scalable, cost-effective way to keep its website, API and mobile apps secure and to make security a structured part of the SDLC. CTO Chris Fanini chose Cobalt as an agile alternative to traditional penetration testing to better fit Weebly’s multi-app development lifecycle.

Cobalt deployed its Agile Penetration Testing Solution: periodic, two-week tests led by a CISSP-certified curator with 2–3 researchers from Cobalt’s vetted global core community, managed through Cobalt Central. The on-demand, customizable program expanded coverage across web, iOS, Android and APIs, delivered about 5× more findings than previous traditional pen tests, and streamlined remediation and retesting—improving security coverage and integrating testing into Weebly’s development process.
