Bis Industries Mining Vehicles, known for building capable vehicles for tough mining environments, partnered with Cobalt Design to elevate the safety, ergonomics, usability, and visual identity of their next-generation fleet. Their challenge was to integrate fresh design thinking with their progressive engineering across several key vehicle programs, including the Rexx haulage truck, Razor underground grader, and Hugo underground mining truck.

Cobalt implemented a user-centered design solution focused on enhancing driver visibility, optimizing cabin layouts for safety and ergonomics, and creating a bold, unified visual identity for the fleet. The results included significantly safer operator access with a lower cab height on the Rexx truck, improved real-world visibility for navigating tight tunnels, and a coherent design language that reflected the customer's cutting-edge innovation, all while adhering to strict engineering constraints and safety standards.
