TATA increase delivery performance by adopting the Fast React approach to planning

TATA, founded in 1985 and based in Guatemala, is one of the world’s largest leather-belt manufacturers with capacity over 8 million units a year and customers such as Levi’s, Dickies and Target. Despite investments in Italian machinery, an ERP system and lean practices, growing demand and competition meant TATA needed clearer end-to-end visibility of production and pre-production critical-path events to further improve efficiency.

TATA implemented the Fast React Evolve planning system to visualise order status, capacity, material availability and critical-path milestones, enabling quick rescheduling and line rebalancing. The solution cut lead times, reduced work-in-progress by more than $100,000 in six months, improved on-time delivery performance, helped virtually eliminate late deliveries and allowed the company to streamline operations (reducing workforce by around 20%).
