Case Study: a large global retailer strengthens ransomware response with Coalfire

The customer, an international retailer and Level 1 merchant, was significantly lacking in incident response capabilities. The vendor, Coalfire, was engaged through its Cyber Risk Advisory services to develop a robust, scalable, and resilient Incident Response plan to contend with security threats.

Coalfire developed the plan by adapting NIST best practices for the client's environment. During the project, a ransomware attack served as an initial test of the developing plan, which was successfully used to isolate systems, perform forensics, and recover with limited business interruption. Coalfire then finalized the plan, which was subsequently adopted by the company’s Cybersecurity Governance Committee.
