Washington State Employees Credit Union Gains Rich Insight Into Its Business Data

WSECU, the Washington State Employees Credit Union, needed a better way to manage and report on business data spread across roughly 20 to 30 on-premises databases and multiple systems. The data team spent too much time manually compiling reports, struggled with inconsistent results across departments, and lacked a clear, holistic view of loan applications and other member data. To modernize its data stack, WSECU turned to Coalesce for data transformation in Snowflake.

With Coalesce and Snowflake, WSECU built dimensional data marts and “portfolio views” that provide a single source of truth for internal teams. This enabled self-service reporting, reduced ad hoc requests to the data team, improved consistency and accuracy, and gave WSECU a 360-degree view of its loan application pipeline to help speed decisions and improve customer service. The team also gained a more streamlined process for snapshot-based “as of” reporting and better long-term data analysis.
