New Approach to Data Transformation Helps Q2 Get Costs Under Control

Q2, a banking software provider based in Austin, Texas, needed to rein in rising Snowflake costs and fix ongoing data integration issues as its existing transformation tooling made hourly jobs run too long and too expensively. The team was forced to cut back from hourly to daily runs, while supporting data flows across SaaS systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, and Workday for internal business teams.

To solve this, Q2 adopted Fivetran for ingestion and Coalesce for data transformation, using Coalesce’s GUI-driven, SQL-generating platform and Node Graph to rebuild its pipelines more efficiently. With support from the Coalesce client services team, Q2 migrated about 400 objects in just over two months, reduced runtime across all jobs by 60%, lowered Snowflake costs, and improved reliability so the team could focus on higher-value initiatives.
