Mitre 10 NZ, a major home improvement retailer in New Zealand, needed to renovate its data foundations as its previous stack of disparate databases and consolidation tools made integration difficult, created long queues for data work, and limited insight beyond basic sales metrics. The company wanted a more reliable, accessible way to turn data into actionable decisions for store teams and leadership, and turned to Coalesce as part of its Snowflake-based data strategy.

With Coalesce, Mitre 10 built a “one kitchen/multiple dining rooms” model on Snowflake, using Coalesce for governed, GUI-based data transformation with the option to drill into code when needed. Coalesce helped the team ingest nearly 80 data sources into Snowflake in 30 days and build 80 end-to-end pipelines in just one week with two engineers; pipelines that once took up to 30 days can now be built and unit tested in a day, improving trust, lineage visibility, and business decision-making across the organization.
