Feeding Westchester secures 200+ press hits in 8 months with Co-Communications

Feeding Westchester, Westchester County's largest nonprofit hunger relief organization, faced the challenge of maintaining press coverage after a year of intense media focus on pandemic-driven food insecurity. The vendor, Co-Communications, was tasked with developing novel public relations angles to continue reaching those in need as well as donors and elected officials.

Co-Communications implemented a creative PR strategy that included identifying and sharing first-hand accounts from individuals new to food insecurity, highlighting volunteer stories, and creating a "State of Hunger" mini-campaign. The solution secured over 200 press pieces in eight months, generating more than 15 million media impressions. This included prominent features in The Journal News, broadcast coverage on major local news networks, and articles in numerous other print and digital outlets.
