FreshDirect, an online grocery delivery company in the New York City metro area, needed better geographic visibility into at-risk deliveries to keep more than 9,000 daily orders on time amid heavy traffic. Their existing reporting showed the data, but not where late deliveries were likely to occur, making fast operational decisions difficult.

CMaps Analytics implemented a real-time mapping solution using its GMaps Plugin with Google Maps Premier and Xcelsius dashboards to plot at-risk deliveries at street level and refresh delivery risk data every five minutes. FreshDirect’s dispatchers could quickly direct on-call trucks to problem areas, helping prevent thousands of late deliveries, improve on-time performance, serve more customers per run, and support lower carbon emissions and a stronger bottom line.
