LCMC Health - Customer Case Study

LCMC Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving Louisiana and the Gulf South, needed to launch University Medical Center New Orleans on a tight three-month timeline while giving clinicians fast access to Epic EMR and GE Centricity PACS data. To support a large virtual desktop infrastructure for physicians, clinicians, and radiologists, LCMC Health worked with vendor CMA Technology Solutions and NetApp All Flash FAS storage in a SAN environment.

CMA Technology Solutions helped LCMC Health deploy VMware virtual desktops and virtual servers on NetApp AFF8040 systems, enabling 1,500 clinical desktops and 300 radiology desktops within two weeks. The result was rapid, secure access to patient data, submillisecond latency for more than 300 VMs, faster recomposition of 1,500 desktops in just a few hours, and about one full-time equivalent reduction in IT management effort.
