A Clustrix Case Study
MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel company, was running a fragile two‑server MySQL setup across two active data centers that created a single point of failure. Heavy seasonal spikes (often ~50%) caused replication lag, inconsistent reads, slow page loads and costly downtime, while vertical scaling, complex archiving and operational overhead made the environment hard to manage; sharding and MySQL Cluster were evaluated but deemed impractical.
MakeMyTrip deployed ClustrixDB as multi‑master clusters (three-node CLX‑4100 in each data center) with cross‑DC replication, gaining self‑healing redundancy, online schema changes, easy horizontal scaling and 24/7 expert support. The move eliminated the single point of failure, stopped downtime during peak traffic, improved transaction and page performance, reduced DBA burden and saved the company over $100k per year.
