A CloudWords Case Study
McDonald’s Hamburger University faced growing demand for Spanish-language and bilingual training materials, but its translation process was slow, email-driven, and lacked visibility, version control, and cost oversight. To support its global workforce training needs, McDonald’s turned to CloudWords to improve localization efficiency and expand output for its Spanish-speaking employees.
CloudWords implemented a translation management platform that centralized translation memory, glossaries, style guides, automated workflows, vendor bidding, and reporting. With CloudWords, McDonald’s cut average cost per translated word in half, grew from about 40 localization projects a year to more than 350, saved about $10K per quarter in bid benchmarking, reduced project completion time from 24 to 17 days, and improved workflow efficiency by 52%.
