ISC, the Internet Systems Consortium, needed a reliable way to distribute its core software packages to users around the world. As it publishes both open source projects and paid “Subscription Editions” of software such as BIND and Kea, ISC turned to Cloudsmith for cloud-native package distribution across public and private repositories.

Cloudsmith provided public repositories for open source Kea packages and private repositories for subscription packages, using entitlement tokens to control access and make installation and updates easier across multiple components and software branches. With Cloudsmith, ISC now maintains 3,000 packages and can ensure consistent, controlled availability for software that may reach thousands or even millions of end users per download.
