Case Study: e-TF1 achieves scalable streaming for major events with Cloudreach and AWS

A Cloudreach Case Study

Preview of the e-TF1 Case Study

E-tf1 in France Ensures Viewers See the Biggest Events Online Using Aws

e-TF1, the digital arm of France's TF1 Group, faced challenges with its on-premises infrastructure, which lacked the elasticity needed to handle large audience spikes during major news and sporting events on its MYTF1 streaming service. The old system was time-consuming to manage, restricting development resources. e-TF1 engaged Cloudreach to help migrate its operations to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Cloudreach implemented a solution using Amazon EKS to manage the microservices-based applications, ensuring high availability on Amazon EC2 instances. The new AWS infrastructure provided automatic scalability, which successfully handled massive traffic loads, including 1.8 billion videos during the FIFA Women’s World Cup and over 1 TB per second during a presidential address. This partnership with Cloudreach liberated e-TF1 from infrastructure restrictions, drastically reduced environment setup times, and allowed the team to focus on enhancing the viewer experience.
