Case Study: KAMAX achieves real-time machine monitoring and faster production tracking with CloudRail

A CloudRail Case Study

Preview of the Kamax Case Study

How KAMAX connected their industrial machines to AWS in hours instead of weeks

KAMAX, a leading manufacturer of high-strength fasteners and form parts for the mobility industry, wanted a faster way to track production output and improve order fulfillment accuracy without relying on time-consuming manual weighing. Working with CloudRail and AWS, the company set out to connect industrial machines for real-time monitoring and to automate piece counting on the factory floor.

CloudRail enabled KAMAX to retrofit a cold heading machine with a light grid sensor and use the CloudRail.Box gateway with AWS IoT Greengrass, AWS IoT Core, AWS Lambda, AWS Amplify, and SAP ERP integration. The solution connected the first machine to AWS in hours, automated real-time product counting, and improved production visibility, saving 2.5% to 3.5% of operator time while enabling better planning, faster reporting, and more proactive machine management.
