West Perth implements e-permitting during COVID-19 as positive Cloudpermit experiences continue to be shared

The Municipality of West Perth, a community of just under 9,000 residents, adopted Cloudpermit’s e-permitting software to address COVID-19–related inefficiencies. The building department, having heard positive experiences from peers and first learning about Cloudpermit at an OBOA conference, needed to replace a paper-based workflow that required staff and contractors to make frequent trips to office dropboxes.

Cloudpermit went live in West Perth in September and delivered an end-to-end digital permit workspace that streamlined permit intake and processing. By using Cloudpermit, the municipality reports a 90% reduction in paper, faster permit flow, and positive contractor feedback because plans can be uploaded remotely, improving overall efficiency and supporting broader digital transformation.
