A Cloudpermit Case Study
North Middlesex, an expansive rural municipality of about 2,400 households northwest of London, faced an urgent need to move off paper when the COVID‑19 pandemic forced municipal offices to close. Chief Administrative Officer Jonathon Graham sought a digital permitting solution to improve document tracking and reporting and selected Cloudpermit’s cloud‑based e‑permitting system to replace in‑person permit applications at the Parkhill office.
Working with neighbouring Middlesex Centre, Middlesex County IT and Cloudpermit, North Middlesex implemented the Cloudpermit platform remotely — including training — in a record three days. The Cloudpermit solution enabled online submissions and permit tracking, kept the construction industry operating while offices were closed, cut the need for in‑person visits, and established a shared database model that lets small municipalities collaborate and streamline services.
