Middlesex Centre Realizes Substantial Growth with Configurable Software, Cloudpermit

Middlesex Centre, a municipality in southwestern Ontario, partnered with Cloudpermit in 2019 to modernize its permitting process and support a growing workload with a small building department of fewer than five staff. As development activity increased and the municipality sought new ways of working, it needed a configurable, easy-to-use digital solution that could improve service for residents and local builders.

Cloudpermit implemented an automated, digital, paperless e-permitting solution tailored to Middlesex Centre’s internal and public-facing needs. The results were significant: new dwellings rose from 159 in 2019 to 258 in 2020, a 62.3% increase, while permit value climbed 41.6% from $101 million to $143 million. Cloudpermit also helped Middlesex Centre take on services for neighboring municipalities and maintain consistency across communities.
