How Uxbridge Used Cloudpermit to Quickly Respond to Tornado

The Township of Uxbridge in Ontario faced an urgent emergency when an EF-2 tornado damaged homes, families, and infrastructure across the community in May 2022. To respond quickly, Uxbridge turned to Cloudpermit’s community development software to manage the immediate aftermath and coordinate its building and inspection response.

With Cloudpermit, the township was able to track inspections, issue repair and prohibited occupancy orders, store property details, photos, and notes in one place, and add new users quickly without extra licensing delays. Cloudpermit also helped residents stay informed through automated emails and supported the issuance of about 75 orders across roughly 65 properties, helping Uxbridge respond faster and more efficiently during the disaster and recovery process.
