How Grey Highlands is Thriving with E-Permitting

The Municipality of Grey Highlands, Ontario, was facing a major development boom while serving a small staff and a large geographic area. To keep up with growing permit volumes and improve service for residents, the municipality turned to Cloudpermit, its cloud-based e-permitting platform.

With Cloudpermit, Grey Highlands moved permit processing, communication, and reporting into one digital space, enabling remote work, real-time inspections, and a fully paperless workflow. The results were strong: 90% of permits were online within three months of implementation, more than 95% are now submitted online, permit volume rose from 340 to about 500 annually without adding staff, and operations continued smoothly during COVID-19.
