Ease pressure on your front counter staff

District of Sechelt, British Columbia, wanted to reduce pressure on front counter staff and improve turnaround times for building permit applications. Working with Cloudpermit’s permitting platform, the district set out to move more of its building permit process online, including applications, payments, and inspection scheduling.

Cloudpermit helped Sechelt connect its building and finance teams with POS vendors to launch online payment for permits and accept applications digitally. The result was that about 90% of building permit applications are now submitted online, with the rest entered into the system for convenience. This has reduced front counter workload, saved staff time on filing and follow-up, and enabled online inspection scheduling with real-time updates for applicants and contractors.
