Media Temple, Inc., a leading web hosting and software application services provider, wanted to strengthen its email hosting offering while keeping spam and malware out of customer inboxes. Its customized SpamAssassin deployment required frequent manual updates and significant staff time to maintain, and the company needed a more accurate and efficient messaging security solution. Cloudmark was selected to help improve protection for its more than 250,000 mailboxes.

Cloudmark implemented Cloudmark Authority for Apache SpamAssassin as a drop-in replacement on Media Temple’s Grid-Service, and a single engineer integrated it in less than one day. The results included at least an 80% increase in spam, phishing, and virus catch rates, false positives dropping to almost immeasurable levels, and no need for additional hardware. Cloudmark also helped Media Temple reduce support calls related to spam and improve customer satisfaction.
