Locaweb, a leading hosting and infrastructure services provider in Brazil and Latin America, needed a more effective way to protect millions of mailboxes from spam, phishing, and viruses while maintaining deliverability and scaling with rapid growth. After struggling with appliance-based, cloud-based, and homegrown email filtering approaches, Locaweb turned to Cloudmark for a solution that could integrate cleanly with its Postfix- and Dovecot-based open source stack.

Cloudmark deployed Cloudmark Authority as an inline plug-in to Locaweb’s Postfix-based email gateway, enabling fast implementation and strong performance with minimal configuration changes. The results were significant: spam catch rates rose from about 75–78% to over 92%, support calls dropped dramatically, and Locaweb was able to decommission 9 email-filtering appliances, reducing operational cost and freeing the engineering team to focus on core services.
