Domain Factory, one of Germany’s largest web hosting providers, was struggling with an overwhelming spam problem as abusive messages rose from 60% to 95% of all mail in just a few years. Its SpamAssassin-based filtering system was no longer keeping up, with spam volumes tripling and filtering accuracy falling below 80%, creating performance and support challenges.

Cloudmark addressed the issue with Cloudmark Authority for Apache SpamAssassin, a carrier-grade plug-in that integrated cleanly into Domain Factory’s open source platform. With Cloudmark, filtering accuracy improved from 79% to 98%, message processing rates tripled from 20 to 60 messages per second per server, anti-spam servers were reduced from 22 to 6, and support overhead dropped by up to four man-hours per day.
