Salsify faced a challenge producing an accurate transcription from a low-resolution scanned image; the body text was too small and blurry to read reliably. The vendor, CloudM, was engaged to handle the transcription/OCR task and assess whether the source material could support a faithful conversion.

CloudM recommended supplying a higher-resolution scan, the original PDF, or the raw OCR output and offered a best-effort reconstruction only as a last resort. By clarifying input requirements and workflow options, CloudM enabled reliable transcriptions, reduced errors and rework, and sped up turnaround when acceptable source files were provided.
