How cloud security keeps patient data safe

OSDE, a leading Argentine healthcare provider headquartered in Buenos Aires serving 2.2 million members across 23 provinces and 400+ facilities, migrated to G Suite to improve collaboration. The move increased sharing of highly sensitive patient, partner, employee, and payment data, creating exposure to ransomware, phishing, uncontrolled mobile apps, and a lack of visibility into how information was being shared and leaving the network.

OSDE implemented Cisco Cloudlock, a G Suite-compatible CASB, to monitor and audit cloud activity. Cloudlock delivered visibility and tracking, secured identities, data, and apps, and revealed potential leaks (for example, a document with usernames and passwords exposed to over 200 users). The solution enabled proactive investigation of incidents, expanded secure collaboration across employees and partners, and offered the prospect of lower long-term infrastructure costs.
