A Cloudinary Case Study

For GUESS, Cloudinary Eliminates the Guesswork in Delivering Optimal Shopping Experiences

GUESS, the global apparel and lifestyle brand, faced a failing image-management system (Adobe Scene7) that relied on Flash and produced oversized, error-prone assets. The outdated workflow caused upload failures, manual cropping and padding, slow page loads, and a poor mobile experience that risked frustrating customers and hurting conversions.

GUESS completed a global migration to Cloudinary—using a custom G-Image conduit for bulk uploads—so images are automatically optimized, scaled, and delivered responsively via Cloudinary’s Product Gallery. The switch cut page load time by about 40%, increased conversions on product listing and detail pages, and streamlined workflows to save the team hours each week while improving visual quality across devices.
