CTERA Networks needed a simple, centrally managed way to modernize remote office storage, simplify disaster recovery, and reduce ROBO storage costs without relying on legacy file servers and backup systems. Using Cloudian HyperStore as the underlying storage platform, CTERA Cloud Storage Gateways and backup services were positioned to deliver cloud-based file sharing, backup, and always-on disaster recovery for branch offices and remote users.
Cloudian’s HyperStore enabled CTERA to build an S3-compatible, scalable hybrid cloud storage foundation for managed NAS, hybrid backup, and file sync and share services. The solution helped centralize management, improve security with encryption and deduplication, and lower WAN and storage overhead; the case study highlights benefits such as optimized incremental backup, centralized monitoring, and unlimited scale, though it does not provide specific quantitative results.
