Move AS launches sovereign BaaS across 3 Norwegian data centres with Cloudian

Move AS, a leading Norwegian IT infrastructure specialist, needed to launch a sovereign Backup-as-a-Service offering. The challenge was to provide ransomware-resilient, immutable backups stored exclusively within Norway to meet strict data sovereignty regulations, while ensuring secure multi-tenancy and cost-effective long-term retention for their enterprise customers. They chose to integrate Cloudian HyperStore object storage with their existing Cohesity DataProtect environment.

The solution implemented with Cloudian HyperStore provided a scalable, S3-compatible storage target with Object Lock for immutable backups. This integration created a layered defense with Cohesity, ensuring ransomware resilience and secure multi-tenant isolation. The results included a successful sovereign BaaS platform with all data stored in Norway, operational resilience through distributed architecture, and a lower cost per TB for long-term retention, meeting the security and compliance demands of their market.
