milCloud® 2.0 needed a secure, easy-to-use and affordable cloud-scale object storage solution to support capacity‑intense tier 1 and 2 applications, backup/archiving, media and surveillance workloads while meeting compliance and immutability requirements. To address that challenge, milCloud® 2.0 standardized on Cloudian for S3‑compatible object storage that provides multi‑tenancy, AES‑256 encryption, FIPS 140‑2 and Common Criteria validation, and Object Lock/WORM functionality.

Cloudian delivered HyperStore with the Cloudian Management Console as a pay‑as‑you‑go capacity tier and backup/archive target (shown integrated with example backup vendors such as Rubrik). The deployment enables milCloud® 2.0 to offload the large capacity footprint (the solution maps to the 80% “capacity data” slice vs. 20% fast data), preserve immutability and compliance with Object Lock, and provide broad S3 interoperability and cost‑effective scalable storage for backup, archive, media, research and surveillance workloads.
