HIAG Data deploys Cloudian to deliver scalable S3-compatible storage service for customers

HIAG Data, a Swiss infrastructure-as-a-service provider with data centres in Biberist and Zürich, needed scalable, S3‑compatible storage that met strict Swiss data‑residency regulations and simplified management compared with its previous Ceph deployment. To address requirements for hybrid cloud support, multi‑tenancy and easy capacity growth, HIAG Data evaluated options and selected Cloudian HyperStore from vendor Cloudian.

Cloudian implemented a two‑petabyte HyperStore cluster distributed and replicated across HIAG Data’s two data centres to ensure full redundancy and continuous uptime. Cloudian’s solution delivered 100% native S3 API, multi‑tenancy with QoS and role‑based controls, bucket‑level protection and policy‑based tiering, enabling customers to meet compliance, scale simply by adding nodes, and use S3‑enabled software — all while operating on HIAG Data’s private network.
