Cloudian Gives ThinkOn the Tools to Grow Its Cloud Storage Business

ThinkOn, a Toronto-based wholesale infrastructure-as-a-service provider working with 68+ channel partners, faced stagnating storage growth as its applications drove hundreds of terabytes of data and prior object storage solutions proved unreliable and hard to integrate. To address these limits, ThinkOn turned to Cloudian and deployed Cloudian HyperStore to replace the problematic solution and support its S3-compatible object storage services.

Cloudian implemented HyperStore on HP servers across five data centers (about 200 TB of capacity), integrated with Commvault and ThinkOn’s Compass partner portal, and enabled multi-tenant, S3-API-driven management and private labeling. As a result, ThinkOn says its S3-compatible storage footprint is now more than doubling each year, resellers can provision storage in minutes, and the sales funnel and new market opportunities (e.g., medical imaging, archives) have expanded—benefits made possible by Cloudian’s interoperability and ease of integration.
